Dominik Antonowicz is a doctor of sociology and works as a researcher and lecturer at the Institute of Sociology, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Poland).

Since 2008 he also works as a full-time strategic adviser to the minister of science and higher education in Poland. Moreover, he serves as a member of various regional and nation advisory boards in a field of higher education  (e.g. Ombudsmen) but last year he enjoyed his post-doc fellowship at the Centre of Higher Education Policy Studies at the Twente University (Netherlands).

He graduated from sociology (University of Toruń) and public management (Birmingham University) and his main research interest is focused on higher education. He publishes, teaches, and speaks regularly on a wide range of topics in area of higher education including global trends, governmental policy toward universities and university management.

Dominik is currently involved in several national and European research projects such as “The Polish Higher Education and the Global Change”, “Governance and Funding Reforms in Higher Education” or “Branding of University’s Diplomas in Poland”. By doing so, he collaborates with a number of scholars mostly from Centre of Higher Education Policy Studies at Twente University and Institute of Social Studies at Warsaw University. In his work he has mostly used interdisciplinary approaches from the field of sociology (public management, economics, political sciences and law).
